mEMA10, in conjunction with ilumivus web-based services, provides a platform that allows organizations to implement a broad range of research studies that employ ecological momentary assessment (EMA). Outside the context of an approved study, mEMA10 does nothing but to allow users to enter study credentials and download the assessments and configurations prescribed by the study in which they are participating.

Researchers specify a subset of the following mEMA10 capabilities to be employed in their studies
- streaming data from wearable biosensors,
- tracking location and/or triggering events based upon geo-proximity,
- using audio and video to record answers to assessment questions,
- self tracking of symptoms, mood, medications and activities,
- triggering notifications and self assessment based on their own algorithms that process real-time biometric data,
- and more.

Before activating mEMA10 with the credentials provided you by your research team, please ensure that you have reviewed and signed an Informed Consent document, and that you feel clear on and comfortable with all the information provided. If not, please do not enter your study credentials until all your questions have been satisfactorily answered.

Once youve entered your credentials, and downloaded your configuration package, you will be prompted to allow mEMA10 access to your phones capabilities required for the study. If you find yourself being asked to allow access to capabilities not covered in your Informed Consent document, please do not authorize them; instead, ask your research coordinator for clarification.

Even if you do not authorize all the requested capabilities, mEMA10 will function. However, some of the data to be collected for your study may not be collected.

mEMA10 is often used to stream and capture data from Garmin watches. How that data is interpreted and used is determined by the researchers conducting the study. If you have any questions about how you should interpret the data collected from Garmin watches or any other data recorded by mEMA10, please ask your research team.
